POSITION TITLE:         Bus Driver

Department:                Catholic Schools

Supervisor:                  Principal

Purpose and Scope

Under the general supervision of the principal the school bus driver strives to achieve the goals of Catholic education; assumes responsibility for leadership; works as a member of the school team; establishes positive school community relationships; continues professional development; performs other job related tasks as deemed necessary and/or assigned by the director.

Essential Job Functions

Driving school bus for transportation of students to and from school.

Establishes positive school community relationships

• maintains cooperative relations with parents.
• maintains awareness of his/her role as a Catholic school staff member and its impact on the community.

Continues professional development

• remains current with credentials and state standards for bus drivers.

Performs any other job related tasks deemed necessary and/or assigned by the director.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Must meet School Bus Certification as required by State of Arizona.
• If Catholic, willing to make a public Profession of Faith.
• Ability to comply with the requirements specified in the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles for licensing.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have a high school or high school equivalency diploma, current CDL with proper endorsements
• Participated in Safe Environment Training and signed the Code of Ethics.
• FBI Fingerprint Clearance completed.
