ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL for 2019-20 SCHOOL YEAR:
Immaculate Conception Catholic School is a Catholic community in Cottonwood, Arizona, educating more than 200 students from preschool through eighth grade. Our parish and school is located in the "heart" of Arizona and is ideally situated above the heat of the desert and below the cold of Arizona's high country. Surrounded by the red rocks of Sedona, Mingus Mountain to the west and the Mogollon Rim stretching north and east, its low elevation of 3,300' and moderate climate is enjoyed year-round.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated principal and Catholic educator who will embrace the challenges and excitement of a long-established school in order to partner with parents and the parish community to educate the whole child while helping our students find God in all things through learning, faith and service.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Candidate must be a practicing, faith-filled Catholic, possess a Master’s degree in Educational Administration or a related field and be able to be state certified as a Principal in Arizona. The successful candidate will be committed to the values of Catholic education and family, be an excellent promoter of the school, and insist on academic excellence. The candidate must be a collaborative decision maker working with staff, parents and the entire parish community in overseeing every aspect of this ministry for Immaculate Conception Parish. Knowledge of finances, good communication, and well-formed public relation skills are essential. A progressive and innovative vision of education for the 21st century that includes knowledge of preschool through 8th grade academic and catechetical curriculum, special education programs, technology and current teaching methodologies to reach all our students is crucial. Candidate must understand the professional development needs of teachers. The candidate must have the ability to relate well with children, parents, teachers, and the community at large, honor the traditions and culture of Immaculate Conception Catholic School, and work collaboratively with the Pastor and School Advisory Board to lead the school positively in its mission.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Salary is negotiable based on experience, education, and credentials. Benefits include employee health insurance, retirement, sick leave, short-term disability, and social security.
