Bourgade Catholic High School is searching for its next Director of Finance and Human Resources. The ideal candidate must have an expert level of fluency in managing a complex corporate budget and be adept in a variety of software platforms typically used in finance and HR (Sage Intacct, Paylocity, Martus, FACTS, MS Suite, G-Suite, etc.). In addition to exhibiting a high level of expertise and professionalism in the finance arena, the selected candidate will have excellent interpersonal and relational skills. Bourgade’s Finance Director is a key member of the school’s community and will have daily interactions with staff members, students, parents, donors, vendors, and partners. We will expect the Director to be an independent self-starter who comes with a built-in “whatever-it-takes” approach to this complex and multi-faceted position. PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Director of Finance reports directly to the Principal and is the point-person for all matters relating to finance management for the school.
DUTIES:
- Strives to achieve the goals of Catholic education; shows evidence of knowledge of the Catholic philosophy of education; promotes gospel values and Catholic moral teaching; upholds the doctrinal teachings of the Catholic Church; provides opportunities for the students to be prepared for life in today’s Church and society
- Act as consultant to the Principal, Administrators, Department Heads and various committees of the School on all matters related to finance.
- Communication with existing and prospective families obtain an affordable tuition by assisting them in the navigation through the annual financial aid process.
- Supervision and mentoring of the Staff Accountant and Tuition and Financial Aid Specialist.
- Liaison to School Finance Committee and Advisory Board.
- Manage Finance Office whose functions include:
- Tuition collection.
- Management of cash receipts, accounts payable, cash management and payroll.
- General Ledger monthly closing and reporting.
- Establish, communicate and monitor financial controls to minimize loss risk.
- Manage annual CPA firm audit.
- Budget:
- Coordinate preparation and revisions of annual budget in conjunction with School Finance Committee.
- Present annual budget to Diocesan School Board Finance Committee for approval.
- Monitor budget compliance.
- Human Resources Officer: Responsible for communication and compliance. Consults with Principal on Human Resource issues.
- Insurance Coordinator: Manage claims and ensures compliance with requirements set by Diocese and insurance carrier.
- Performs any job-related tasks necessary for the smooth flow of operations within the school.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Bachelor degree in Business, Finance or Accounting, equivalent work experience and three years of work experience in a related position.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Ability to organize, work independently, set schedules, prioritize tasks, supervise others and yet work in a team setting.
- Knowledge of accounting, spreadsheet, and database programs.
