We are looking for a nurturing and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher Assistant to support our lead teachers in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for young children. The Preschool Teacher Assistant will help with daily activities, classroom management, and the social, emotional, and educational growth of children aged 3–5 years. The role also involves fostering an environment that reflects and promotes the Catholic values of the Diocese of Phoenix.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and lessons.
- Support children with daily tasks, such as circle time, arts and crafts, storytime, and other hands-on learning activities.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and faith-based classroom environment where children feel valued and encouraged to grow.
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and other transitions to ensure their safety.
- Assist with classroom preparation, including setting up activities, organizing materials, and maintaining a clean and orderly space.
- Provide individual attention to students as needed to promote their growth and development.
- Help children develop social skills and positive behaviors, including sharing, cooperation, and self-regulation, rooted in Catholic teachings.
- Support and participate in prayer, religious activities, and the integration of Catholic faith into daily classroom routines.
- Communicate effectively with lead teachers, staff, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
