POSITION TITLE: Staff Accountant
SUPERVISOR: Director of Finance

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of the Director of Finance, the Accounting Clerk performs technical and clerical duties in support of the preparation and maintenance of the school’s financial records and performs other duties as required or assigned in accordance with all applicable policies of the Diocese of Phoenix.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Records all deposit receipts
- Maintains A/R database and financial aid awards and communicates with parents regarding payments and balances due.
- Assists parents/guardians with financial aid applications
- Prepares monthly tuition invoices and past due statements; performs follow-up with students and/or parents to collect all tuition
- Posts miscellaneous charges such as NSF checks, AP Testing and Graduation Fees to students’ accounts
- Reconciles revenue accounts in General Ledger
- Collects and post tuition revenue In AR system
- Works as cashier during lunch rush
- Oversees Scrip program (run by volunteers)
- Oversees Spirit Shop receipts and inventory
- Tracks volunteer hours and records in AR system
- Assists with student registration
- Maintains student tuition agreement forms
- Assists with the assembly of student registration packets and summer mailing packets
- Works with the Director of Finance to prepare worksheets and analysis required by the external auditors for the interim and year-end audits
- Attends Open House, Registration, and other events requiring Business office support
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned by Director of Finance
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum high school diploma, but bachelor’s degree preferred
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Received Safe Environment Training and signed the Code of Conduct
- FBI Fingerprint clearance completed
- Full-time; 12 months; occasional work on weekends and evenings
