Teacher Job Description

I. POSITION TITLE:

Teacher
Department: Catholic Schools
Grade: 6th Grade (Math/Science and Homeroom Religion)
Supervisor: Principal or Designee

II. PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Under the supervision of the principal, the teacher is a person of faith who strives to achieve the goals of Catholic education. The teacher is responsible for teaching 6th-grade Math and Science, along with Religion for their homeroom class. The teacher collaborates with the grade-level partner teacher to ensure a cohesive educational experience, develops and implements instructional programs aligned with the Diocesan Curriculum Standards, integrates faith into the curriculum, and fosters a faith-filled, positive learning environment. The teacher is encouraged to utilize the provided curriculum while incorporating additional resources that best meet the needs of the students. They also maintain accurate records, build positive school-community relationships, and engage in professional development to stay current with academic and religious certifications. Additional job-related tasks may be assigned by the principal.
